The motor of the D-2 consisted of a 213 cubic inch, L head, four main bearing six cylinder engine. the motor has 78 brake horespower and 155 lbs of torque at 1000 rpm. There was a 13 gallon gas tank on the truck and the maximum speed was around 45 miles per hours. It received about 6 or 7 miles per gallon. Remember at the time this truck was running the roads there weren't many asphalt roads around most were dirt or brick (at least around here in South Arkansas). When was the last time you drove on a brick road? Also, these trucks were made for working in. There was no such thing as a truck that never got dirty or used during the time period this vehicle was made. A truck was a Truck. It was used to haul "stuff".
